Jason Crandell, a master yoga teacher, at the Yoga Journal Conference in San Diego. He reminds us,


"Sometimes students struggle with a posture because it challenges their strength. Other times, students struggle with a posture because it challenges their flexibility. What gets overlooked time and time again is that students often struggle with postures because they just haven't repeated them enough to truly understand how to do them. So, embrace repetition--it's how we all learn."

Dear SoulShiners,


We're mixing things up! Join us for a new class and/or a new teacher! Starting this week we welcome a number of new teachers to SoulShine as well as a new class:  Yoga Bootcamp on Wednesdays at 7pm and Fridays at 5:30am. 


Yoga Bootcamp is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. This interval-based class combines full-body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts designed to tone your body, improve your endurance and clear your mind. Modifications for all fitness levels are provided.


Please note that a couple of classes have been cancelled until September, including our Kids Class on Wednesdays at 3:30. All children are welcome to attend our Kids Class on Thursdays at 10:15am. Check our website or get theMINDBODY app for an up-to-date class schedule.  


As August approaches, we hope you are enjoying the tail end of summer. Treasure the moments that take your breath away and see light where others see dark.

Iejnno (Gino) approaches yoga to nourish the body, mind, and spirit with love and opportunity, on and off the mat. He has always been active and fascinated with many sports such as, Boxing, and Tae Kwon Do (receiving his first-degree black belt at the age of ten). The desire to find discipline and freedom within the body, Iejnno later found both through yoga. Introduced to yoga around the age of twelve, he then committed to his practice back in 2010 starting with Bikram Yoga, then discovered his true connection with CorePower Yoga in winter of 2011. The warmth of the community and support from the teachers guided him through a new journey, growing spiritually and finding his authentic self. 

His passion is to instruct vinyasa flow, yoga sculpt and to inspire others as he was inspired. Discovering everyday his true authentic nature, Iejnno aims for anyone who practices alongside him to do the same and connect deeper within our own selves. In his dynamic and challenging classes, one can expect precise alignment instruction, uplifting humor and discipline to go exceed one's limits.

Alicia (Cia) -RYT-500- took her first Yoga class in 1999.  After years of ebbing and flowing in and out of the practice, she found her passion in Hot Vinyasa and never looked back. Since then she has attended hundreds of hours of training, graduating at the 500 Hour Level Teacher Training Certification.  Her deepest wish is to guide her students towards expressing their authenticity by embracing self-acceptance, and holding compassion for others and themselves.  She is honored to have the opportunity to serve her community, through teaching yoga -both locally and internationally, and at SoulShine Yoga.

Grace has always had a passion for health and wellness. Her personal yoga practice started at a Bikram studio over 10 years ago as a way to complement her other workouts and to balance the demands of a day in the corporate world.  Initially drawn to the fitness aspects of yoga, she later discovered it's transformative effects and profound benefits, not only to the physical body, but to the mind and soul as well. She later fell in love with the diverse, fluid and dynamic movements of Vinyasa yoga. 

Through her practice Grace has seen many areas of her life impacted in positive ways and is blessed to have the opportunity to support others in their own personal journey. She received her 200 hr Vinyasa Yoga certification in 2012. She is Yoga Sculpt certified and is an instructor for Pound - Rockout. Workout™. One of the most important things she strives for in her yoga flow, sculpt and bootcamp classes is to create space for everyone to feel safe and empowered, while still maintaining a fun and challenging atmosphere.
